Rabbit Overhauls Its R1 AI Device With a Major Touch-Focused OS Update

Rabbit R1, a dedicated AI system that received intermediate opinions last year, has just received a major software update, revising the entire operating system, founder and CEO of Rabbit Inc., Jesse Lyu, Monday in a video published on X.
In the video, Lyu recognizes the R1 gaps, saying that his team was overwhelmed by the overhaul and the expectations that the aircraft received. Since then, the R1 has seen 30 updates, but with Rabbitos2, the operating system of the device obtains a complete overhaul.
The old R1 is dead. Presentation of a completely new experience with Rabbitos 2 +creations.
We realized that there was a gap between our early vision and the real experience we have delivered. So we revised everything.

Rabbitos2 is a more cocking interface to the touch, allowing buyers to adjust additional settings with the touch screen rather than counting on the scrolling wheel. People interact mainly with the R1 via the voice, and now they can see the flow of conversation on the screen and wrap the AI assistant with buttons below.
A criticism of the R1 was that people did not know or did not understand the complete AI capabilities, because it was largely controlled by the voice. A new user interface based on tiles allows people to quickly see the different functions that R1 can do. By pressing this tile, users can start interacting, where they had to ask the R1 to perform various functions.
A criticism raised against the R1 was whether it was necessary in a world where almost everyone has a smartphone. With creations, a new function in Rabbitos2, people can “vibrate the code” on the device. For example, using their voice, users can ask the R1 to code a personalized game for them, and after a few minutes, that will get one. Users need access to Rabbit Intern, the company’s AI agent, accessible via the office. It will also be possible to install creations with other rabbit users.
The R1 rabbit was released in 2024 in the middle of a massive media threw of AI. It was presented as a dedicated laptop device that would use its large action model to connect with various applications and work in your name.
The promise of an AI device that could sail on Spotify or call an Uber throughout your voice helped Rabbit Inc. to raise $ 64.7 million on five laps.
In reality, however, the IA model was buggy and the interface was confusing. Critics criticized the aircraft as half cooked and too early.
It was also published almost at the same time as another dedicated apparatus, Pin Humane IA, which was also criticized and led some commentators to conclude that AI devices were not necessary in a smartphone world.
It is difficult to say exactly how much the dedicated AI apparatus market is worth because the AI itself is integrated into a whole suite of products, from washing machines to necklaces through smart glasses.
