Sesame Street Elmo’s X account shared antisemitic posts

Getty imagesThe manufacturers of Sesame Street say that the pirates were behind “disgusting” anti -Semitic messages that appeared on Elmo’s X account.
A series of messages calling for the extermination of the Jewish people appeared on the verified page, which has around 650,000 subscribers on Sunday.
Other messages attacked US President Donald Trump and called on the files relating to the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Sesame Workshop, the non -profit organization that manufactures the children’s program, said that a “unknown pirate” had access to the account.
“Elmo’s X account was compromised by an unknown hacker who has published disgusting messages, including anti-Semitic and racist publications,” said a spokesperson.
“We are working to restore total account control.”
‘Free files’
Fraud to the action of the United Kingdom said that there was an increase in social accounts and messaging pirated last year, with more than 35,000 reports.
He advised users to configure a two -step verification alongside a solid and unique password.
Elmo is one of the best known characters of Sesame Street and has teaches kindness to children since the 1980s.
A number of puppets from the long -standing American children’s television program are present on social networks and Elmo has an account on X, formerly Twitter, since 2012.
In 2024, he became viral on X for asking “How is everyone?”
The message, which is still pinned about the profile, has had nearly 20,000 answers with many users sharing their despair about the world.
No more positions has been shared on the account since the anti -Semitic posts were deleted.
