“Horror Movie” is such a wide term. You have your supernatural films involving horrible ghosts and demons, dead-dead zombies, psychological tasks and “high” cinematographic horror, like that of Jordan Peele or Ari Aster, designed for more refined horror fans. As for me, I prefer Slasher films – those where a psycho -tirer stands out on a group of helpless victims, picking them one at a time.

If you are a Slasher fan, the problem is to find good to broadcast. Some of the best (like the Friday 13 And Nightmare on Elm Street Series) are not always available for streaming, and platforms like Netflix are strewn with “slashers” so bad that Ghostface would not clean his knife with them.

Films featuring Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees had provided diminished yields, and the tropes of the genre seemed just as dead as any victim of the killer on the screen. X launches a trilogy of Ti West horror movies which includes Pearl (always the biggest film in Mia Goth) and Maxxxine. Each film has its charms, but X best suits the archetype Slasher thanks to its intrigue. Located in 1979, the film focuses on a group of young people trying to shoot an adult film. But the owners of their planned location do not take goodness what they are doing, and they are too ready to kill these young people for their transgressions.

At the surface level, X Offers the mixture of sex and violence that fans expect slashers, and the adjustment of the period is enough to remind the public of gender classics and Halloween and Friday 13. However, West uses these expected tropes as a springboard to offer more crunchy comments on everything, from reputation to old age. Although it is not exactly in the subsequent slasher mold like Friday 13,, Black Christmas is a gift that continues to give.
