Sinclair Makes Official Decision About ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ After Preempting Show – RedState
Sinclair Broadcast Group announced that he would no longer preempt the program “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on his many ABC affiliates across the country from Friday evening.
In a shared press release on X, the media group announced that it “would end its pre -emption of Jimmy Kimmel Live! And the show will return this evening to the affiliates of ABC de Sinclair. “”
“Our objective throughout this process was to ensure that the programming remains exact and engaging for the widest possible public,” the press release said. “We take our responsibility seriously as local broadcasters to provide a program that serves the interests of our communities, while honoring our bonds to disseminate the national network programming.”

ABC would reinstate Jimmy Kimmel, but Nexstar says “no”
“During last week, we received reflected comments from viewers, advertisers and community leaders representing a wide range of prospects,” he added. “We also attended disturbing acts of violence, including the despicable incident of a shooting in an ABC affiliation station in Sacramento.”
“These events underline why the dissemination responsible for questions and why the respectful dialogue between different votes remains so important,” he continued. “In our current and constructive discussions with ABC, Sinclair has proposed measures to strengthen responsibility, the feedback of spectators and community dialogue, including an independent mediator on a network level. These proposals have been suggested as collaboration efforts between ABC affiliates and the ABC network.”
Sinclair also clearly indicated that his decision to pre -empt the Kimmel program on his 40 affiliates after the host lied about the murder of Charlie Kirk without influence of the government.
“Our decision to preempt this program was independent of any government interaction or influence,” the statement said. “Freedom of expression offers broadcasters the right to exercise judgment as for the content of their local stations. Although we understand that not everyone will agree with our decisions on programming, it is simply inconsistent to defend freedom of expression while demanding that the broadcasters have specific content to the case.”
“As a business anchored in local stations, Sinclair remains determined to serve our communities with a program that reflects their priorities, wins their confidence and promotes constructive dialogue,” he added. “We are impatient to continue working with ABC to deliver content that serves a wide range of our communities.
Nexstar, who also pre-empted the late show because of Kimmel’s lies on the alleged killer of Kirk, has not yet made a public announcement to find out if they will follow Sinclair or continue not to broadcast the end of evening talk show on his dozens of affiliates.

ABC prematurely “Jimmy Kimmel Live! Indefinitely after Vile’s comments on the murder of Charlie Kirk
As Redstate reported, at the start, it was only Nexstar and Sinclair who announced after Kimmel’s vile actions that they would “indefinite” his show “indefinitely”. Then ABC said that it followed the step with Kimmel’s show, which was pre -empted “indefinitely”.
A few days later, ABC gave in and said that he would be back on Tuesday, and now Sinclair followed, both doing him without official excuses from Kimmel for the lies he said. It’s disappointing, but I can’t say that it’s totally surprising.
