Australia’s Metal Cruise Locked In For January 2027

If you missed a booth for the first installment, you might want to start stretching your finger now – because Hellbound is officially returning to the schedule.
After selling out its maiden voyage in less than ten minutes, Australia’s first cruise dedicated to heavy metal has announced a second edition, with Hellbound II scheduled from January 17 to 21, 2027 aboard the Carnival splendor.
“The full program will be available soon”
Yes, the abyss is hitting the high seas again.
Promoters of Choose Your Cruise have confirmed that the return is a direct result of the overwhelming demand for the first Hellbound, which is set to be released in October 2026 and has sold out faster than anything in the company’s 15-year history.
For those playing catch-up: Hellbound is exactly what it sounds like: a floating community slash recovery test of a metal festival, bringing together heavy bands, die-hard fans, and an immersive onboard experience that fully leverages metal culture.
The first Hellbound already raised eyebrows with a ridiculously stacked Australian lineup, headlined by Parkway Drive, alongside Polaris, Northlane, The Butterfly Effect, Make Them Suffer, In Hearts Wake, Windwaker, Ocean Sleeper, Future Static and more – all unleashed on a custom-made pool stage somewhere in international waters.
Hellbound II promises to make things even more difficult.
Although the 2027 program will not be revealed until Monday February 2, the organizers have confirmed that the return cruise will once again include:
-
Several steps through the ship
-
Immersive events and themed evenings
-
Artist-curated experiences
-
And a stop at Tangalooma Harbour, where punters can briefly trade ring pits for dolphin feeding, wreck snorkeling and sand sledding before getting back to business.
Key dates for your calendar:
-
Announced programming: Monday February 2
-
Presale: Wednesday February 4
-
General sale: Thursday February 5
Considering how quickly the first one disappeared, it’s safe to assume that Hellbound II won’t hang around either.
Metal festivals have conquered paddocks, warehouses, stadiums and now – officially – the high seas. If you’ve ever wanted to crash while the ship rocks gently beneath your feet, Hellbound II is your next chance.
Sharpen your cutlass. Keep your cabin. And maybe book, leave earlier…
