Texas A&M will reportedly host Auburn wide receiver on a visit

Another under-the-radar area of need for Texas A&M this offseason is at wide receiver. The Aggies already have an extremely talented young group led by All-American Marion Craver, but the room is still missing an experienced presence and a true high-end speed threat. That’s why it’s no surprise that the staff would bring in a dynamic playmaker from the SEC for a visit.
On Friday, Hayes Fawcett reported that Auburn sophomore wide receiver Malcolm Simmons had included Texas A&M among the schools he was considering visiting.

Simmons is one of the most intriguing names in the portal. His career hit some turmoil last summer, due to an arrest, but he was ultimately cleared and stayed out of trouble through the 2024 season. On the field, he had a breakout year: 25 receptions for 457 yards and two touchdowns, highlighted by an impressive 18.3 yards per catch. This explosive efficiency is exactly the kind of game-changing capability A&M is looking to add.
Ranked No. 8 in the On3 transfer portal rankings, Simmons would bring instant juice to the Aggies passing attack, especially after the departure of KC Concepcion. Still, this is a crucial cultural moment for Mike Elko’s program, and the staff will have to do its homework to ensure Simmons aligns with the level he’s building in Aggieland.
