Rep. Steube calls for firing of Senate Parliamentarian over Trump bill cuts

An unadred Senate parliamentarian should not decide what remains and what does not do in the so-called “big bill,” said representative Greg Steube, R-Fla., Told Fox News Channel in an interview that has earned President Trump’s approval.
The conservatives were furious Thursday morning after learning that the Senate parliamentarian Elizabeth Macdonough ruled on several key and adjusted reforms in Medicaid in the Senate of the GOP of the bill of President Trump did not adopt the rules of the Senate. A senator, Roger Marshall, from Kansas, called to replace Macdonough.
Steube was a guest on the Fox report on Sunday morning, when the host Jon Scott asked him where he was on if the parliamentarian should have been canceled or even dismissed. He agreed with Marshall.

“Yeah, I had called for her dismissal,” said Steube. “I do not think that a person who was not elected, who was appointed over ten years ago, should be the one who decides what remains and what does not.”
The United States legislators were elected by its voters to make these decisions; Not parliamentarians, he said.
Currently, the Republicans have majorities in the Chamber and the Senate. Macdonough was appointed by the late the head of the majority of the Senate, Harry Reid, who was a democrat.

Steube asked why the current head of the majority of the Senate, John Thune, RS.D., would not replace Macdonough with a republican name.
“We have certainly called this,” said Steube. “Thune said he wouldn’t do that, so they’re going to go ahead.”
Scott noted that Macdonough said that it was supposed to be bullets and appeal strikes, not political decisions. When Scott asked Steube if he thought Macdonough worked for the Democrats, the legislator noted that she had been appointed by one.

“What legislators of the Chamber who were elected by the people adopted by the majority of the House of Representatives and sent to the Senate are now struck by a person appointed by Harry Reid,” said Steube. “I certainly don’t think that it is why the American people voted.
Trump later posted Steube’s interview on Truth Social.

“The great member of the Greg Steube congress is 100% correct,” wrote the president. “A member of the staff of the unadred Senate (parliamentary) should not be authorized to harm the republican bill. Likes a lot of fantastic things. No!”
