Report: Bears to sign 3 defensive backs
The Chicago Bears finished their first pre-season match during the weekend with 24-24 equality against the Miami dolphins. Although they did not technically lose the match, they lost a few players because of injuries throughout the day, mainly in secondary. The half of the Terell Smith and Tre Flowers corner left the match on Sunday, while Nick McCloud was not available. Combine this, with the fact that Jaylon Johnson is still on NFI due to a leg injury, Kyler Gordon left training last week, and the recruit Zah Frazier was absent from a personal problem, and suddenly, the Bears seem a little thin in the secondary.
However, the director general Ryan Pomes brings reinforcements. According to Brad Biggs of Chicago Tribune, The Bears should sign three defensive backs this week. Safety Mark Perry and the Coin Demi Mekhi Garner and Kaleb Hayes will be added to the list to help fill the gaps left by injuries. The three defensive rear was part of a larger test group on Monday.
With injuries added to secondary school, the #Belles Will sign 3 defensive backs after a test on Monday.
Movements are more like depth additions at this stage – not a sign that there should be a serious concern for the regular season.

Perry was signed as a free agent not drafted in 2024 of TCU by the dolphins of Miami and has since jumped in several teams, spending time in the training team for the Texans of Houston, the New England Patriots and Le Tennessee Titans.
Garner, another un residged free agent, entered the league with the Eagles of Philadelphia in 2023 and played in three games as a special team player. He spent a little time with the renegades of Arlington of the UFL earlier this spring. Hayes also entered the league as a free agent not drafted in 2023, joining the Jacksonville jaguars. Like Perry, he rebounded with several NFL teams and has not yet appeared in a regular season match.
As Biggs notes, it is likely that bears are looking for camp bodies while some of their players heal. None of the injuries suffered seems serious, and they are probably cautious with more training camp practices and pre-season games along the way. It is not known to date that the corresponding list movements will be to bring the three players.
