Local man offers to buy 6-year-old girl from her mother, police say

An investigation lasting several months led to the arrest of Theodore Magee, who allegedly wanted to buy a 6-year-old girl.

Court documents describe Magee, 44, as a family friend of the girl. But in April, the child’s mother told police that Magee had molested her daughter at her home on Gene Drive in Allegheny Township and had also expressed interest in buying it.

Magee showed officers messages and videos on his cell phone in which he referred to the victim as his girlfriend, police said.
