Wow is thin. And light. And it’s very good in your hand.

I have shown Apple’s new Apple iPhone for a few days, and it’s faultless, it’s the reaction I get.

It tells me that I was not mistaken on the iPhone air. When it was announced for the first time, I was not sure that the world needed a very thin iPhone. And I was sure that a super thin iPhone would surely take a blow with regard to the battery life. And when I saw that he had only one rear camera – Horror! “This thing will surely be a failure,” I thought.

But iPhone air is not only thin. Think about it this way: it is the first iPhone that was designed, above all, to be as cool, beautiful and, yes, sexy as possible.

I only look like the iPhone in my hands for a few days, not enough time to fully assess its lifespan of the camera or battery. My full iPhone air exam arrives in a week or two. For the moment, let’s talk about the first impressions.

IPhone air is the pretty

The size contrast is even greater when you compare the iPhone air with the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which is exactly what its name says, a workhorse of professional quality in the form of a phone. I will have more on the iPhone 17 Pro Max later, but when you place it next to the iPhone Air, it looks like a Ford F-150 parked next to a Porsche. The Porsche may not have the use of a pick-up, but it turns heads.

Yes, iPhone air is almost incredibly thin. At 5.64 mm, not counting the bump of the camera, it seems that it should not exist. More shocking, for me, it was how light it was. It weighs 30% less than the iPhone 17 Pro Max, but in your hand, it seems that the difference is even greater.

Most importantly, it’s so incredibly pleasant to watch. I have the Space Black variant, and if you are on the fence, I strongly recommend that you check it in person at the Apple Store; The photos do not do him justice. The 6.5-inch display blends into the context in polished titanium (yes, it always has a titanium frame, unlike the new Pro Scratch subject models), which makes glasses almost nonexistent. On the matt black back, the shiny camera tray rises to reveal a single rear camera. Most other phones focus on the camera bump; In the air of the iPhone, Apple has disappeared almost, unless you look directly at the side.

The iPhone air is also very pleasant to hold. Not only is it light, but the weight is well distributed. I bet the reason why Apple did not put a second camera in this camera bump (tray) was weight distribution; A high -end phone simply does not feel as well in your hand.

Please, no accessories

The iPhone air has almost the same chip architecture as pro models, and it works with smooth butter. The OLED display is magnificent, thanks to promotion technology which is now standard throughout the range. As I said, the lifespan of the battery and the camera need more tests, but I am sure that the iPhone air will not compare well to the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Knowing this, Apple sent me a bunch of accessories that somewhat reduce the problems that arise with an incredibly thin and light smartphone. One is the bumper case, a simple frame that protects the device from the sides but does not do much to protect the back. Another is a transparent case with a Magsafe ring. Finally, there is the Magsafe battery pack (white) which is fixed at the back to add a little more juice to the battery life.

For devil with everyone, I say. Yes, iPhone air needs protection; Such a pleasant phone should not be full of stripes. And the additional battery juice is surely great to have. But all these new accessories for iPhone make iPhone air much thicker and much less cool than it is. If I had to choose one, I would probably take a bumper case (maybe something thinner than that of Apple), to slap an Apple portfolio on the back for protection and to hope for the best.

But who is it?

I bet most people will prefer the air.

Is there a market for this type of phone? I will know more when I spend more time with it. At first glance, I would say that the answer is yes. I suppose that almost everyone entering an Apple Store and compares iPhone air to any other iPhone will prefer air. The one you end up choosing is another matter, but the air wins on the first impressions, and it is not a little thing.
