RFK Jr. is dismantling trust in vaccines, the crown jewel of American public health
Regarding vaccines, practically nothing that comes out of the mouth of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is true.
The man in charge of the health and well-being of the nation is waterproof to science, expertise and knowledge. Her brand of arrogance is not only dangerous, she is deadly. Propulating confidence in vaccines, he will have the blood of children around the world on his hands.
Scratch that.
He already does it, as he presides over the second largest epidemic of measles in this country since the disease was declared “eliminated” a quarter of a century ago.
“Vaccines have become a problem of division in American policy,” Kennedy wrote the other day in a trial of Wall Street Journal, “but there is one thing on which all parties can get along: the United States is faced with a crisis of public confidence.”
The lack of self -awareness would be funny if it was not so tragic.
Over the past two decades, Kennedy has done more than almost all the other Americans to destroy public confidence in vaccines and science. And now he deplores the very thing he has helped to cause.
Earlier this month, Kennedy dismissed the 17 medical and public health experts of the Consultative practices for Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – qualified doctors and public health experts – and replaced them by a (mainly) anti -Vaxxers group in order to continue its implacable asientative crusade.
On Thursday, during his first meeting, his newly reconstituted council voted to ban the conservative Thimérosal of the few remaining vaccines which contain him, despite numerous studies showing that Thimérosal is sure. On this point, even the Food and Drug Administration website is frank: “A robust body of scientific studies evaluated by peers carried out in the United States and in other countries supports the safety of vaccines containing Thimérosal.”
“If you have searched the world, you cannot find a person less suitable for directing health efforts in the United States or worldwide,” said Allen Frances psychiatrist on Thursday. Frances, which presided over the working group which changed the way in which the diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders, or DSM, defines autism, published a trial in the New York Times on Monday explaining why the incidence of autism has increased but is neither an epidemic nor linked to vaccines.
“The rapid increase in autism cases is not due to vaccines or environmental toxins,” wrote Frances, “but is rather the result of changes in the way autism is defined and evaluated – changes that I helped to put in place.”
But Kennedy is not the type to let the facts hindered his cockamary theories. Manufacturers have long been withdrawn from the Thimérosal from infantile vaccines due to unfounded fears that it contained mercury which could accumulate in the brain and unfounded fears concerning a relationship between mercury and autism.
This did not prevent one of the new members of the Kennedy council, Lyn Redwood, who once directed the defense of children’s health, the anti-vaccine group founded by Kennedy, from declaring a victory for children.
“The elimination of a known neurotoxin of injection in our most vulnerable population is a good point to start from the health of America,” Redwood told the Committee.
By the way, the autism rates continued to climb despite the prohibition of the Thimérosal. But do not fear, the credible Americans, Kennedy promised to determine a cause of the complex condition by September!
Like his boss, Kennedy just invents things.
On Wednesday, he interrupted an American commitment of $ 1 billion towards Gavi, an organization that provides vaccines to millions of children worldwide, wrongly accusing the group of not having investigated the adverse effects in the Dipterie.
“This is completely disastrous for children around the world and for public health,” said Autul Gawande, a surgeon who worked in the Biden administration, in New York Times.
Unilaterally, and unlike evidence, Kennedy has decided to abandon the recommendation of the CDC that healthy pregnant women receive stuck vaccines. He also told Rogan that a 2003 study by scientific doctor Michael Pichichero, an expert on the use of Thimérosal in vaccines, involved feeding her for 6 months and tuna sandwiches with younger mercury, and that 64 days later, Mercury was still in their system. “Who would that do it?” Asked Kennedy.

In the study, 40 babies were injected with vaccines containing Thimérosal, while a control group of 21 babies obtained gunshots that did not contain the conservative. None have been fed on tuna. Speaking of Hallucinations of the AI on Tuesday during a hearing of the Congress Committee, Kennedy was questioned about the inaccuracies, disinformation and research and quotes for nonexistent studies in the first report of his Make America Healthy Yeth committee.
The report focused on how American children are injured by their poor diet, exposure to environmental toxins and, as expected, over-vaccination. He was immediately saved by the experts. “This is not a report based on evidence, and for all practical purposes, it should be Jondi at this stage,” said Georges C. Benjamin, executive director of the American public Health Assn. said to the Washington Post.
If Kennedy was sincere to improve the health of American children, he would focus on the fight against real plagues such as armed violence, drug overdoses, depression, poverty and lack of access to preventive health care. He would fight the cuts offered at Medicaid Tooth and Nail.
