Atlanta’s dream guard, Rhyne Howard, suffered a left knee injury during the defeat of Friday 99-82 against Indiana fever and will miss the rest of July, the team announced. Although the team expects them to recover completely, they did not provide a calendar for her return. The absence of Howard for the rest of the month means that she will miss the WNBA stars match on Saturday, which she was selected as a reserve.

The WNBA will have to fill up on Howard on Team Necklier with an injury replacement chosen by Commissioner Cathy Englebert. Naphesesa Collier selected Howard in his team in last week’s draft, opposing Caitlin Clark and the other half of the stars.

The injury occurred halfway through the second quarter of the Friday competition when Howard fell on the ground after a rebound attempt. The coaches helped her out of the ground and in the locker room as she was fighting to put weight on her left leg.

Howard, choice n ° 1 of the 2022 draft, came out of the locker room and participated in half-time warming up before she returned to the match. She played 26 minutes, corresponding to the highest third total among the starters despite the majority of the second quarter of the ground. The injury did not limit her production, and she finished the second match on the dream by scoring 14 points, nine from which came after her return.

The dream did not specify Howard’s diagnosis, but her injury is clearly more important than she seems when she made her return in the second half. Atlanta will be without her second top scorer for the duration of her time outside the field.

The selection of Howard’s stars was the third in his career and marked a return to the list after missing a sign last season for the first and the only time. The 25 -year -old goalkeeper won a place in the window despite the publication of a percentage of goals in the field of 34.9% during the first half of the season. She compensated for the slight drop in the score (16.5 points per game) with an increase in rebounds and assists, however, and is about to define personal records in the two categories.

Howard has been a must near the summit in the statistical classification of the dream since its beginnings in 2022 when she won the Recrue of the WNBA recruit, but she did not play a full season of 40 games either. She missed 10 games last year – most of her season – with an ankle injury.

Currently 12-9, the dream holds the fifth best record in the League.
