“Michael Whatley has done an exceptional job conducting the National Republican Committee through historical campaign successes, and I am delighted to have him approved in his attempt to become the next American Senator in North Carolina,” wrote Thune in his declaration. “Michael is a strong conservative voice committed to fighting for North Carolina and will be a crucial element of our republican majority in the growing Senate.”
Scott wrote in his declaration that Whatley is a “first curator of strong America”.
“Like President Donald J. Trump, Michael Whatley knows how to win North Carolina. He is a solid first Conservative of America and a champion of the state of Tar Heel, so I am convinced that we will keep the siege in our republican hands,” added Scott. “With Michael in the race and run to win, I know that we will protect the majority of President Trump’s Senate in 2026.”
In the same way, The president of the National Republican Congress Committee (NRCC), Richard Hudson, published a press release on Thursday, renting Whatley as “exactly the type of conservative leader in North Carolina.”
“Michael Whatley is exactly the type of conservative leader in North Carolina needs, hard, tested and determined to put America first,” Hudson wrote in the statement sent to the Daily Caller News Foundation. “Originally from western North Carolina and another former former former Charlotte, the president of Whatley built the country’s most prosperous Republican Party in the country and now leads the RNC with this same energy and the same vision. He is a conservative tested in combat who will fight for the working families, help to deliver the agend of President Trump and to stand for the tide.
THE race To succeed outgoing The Republican Senator of Caroline du Nord Thom Tillis should be extremely competitive. The former Democratic Governor of North Carolina at two Roy Cooper mandates also seeks the headquarters of the open state Senate. Cooper – which would have been among the best recruits of his party in 2026 – seems to be on the verge of erasing the Democratic domain after the former Democrat representative of North Carolina, Wiley Nickel, announced Tuesday that he suspended his campaign in the Senate on Tuesday.
While Lara Asset Rumor could be a potential candidate in the Northern Carolina Senate race, she announced in a statement posted on X on July 24 that she did not run.
