New NYC mayoral poll shows Mamdani beating Cuomo by 10 points in head-to-head matchup

Zohran Mamdani holds his field as a favorite in the race for the mayor of New York with another survey published on Tuesday showing the Democratic candidate with an important advance and beating the former governor Andrew Cuomo in a top-to-head competition.
A new Marist survey has shown that Mamdani leading Andrew Cuomo at 21 points, with 45% of the polllars saying that they support Mamdani and 24% by choosing Cuomo. The Republican Curtis Sliwa received 17% and 9% the supported mayor Adams.
People opposed to Mamdani, including President Trump, urged consolidation in the race to give a candidate the best shot to defeat the candidate.
Adams thought about the end of his campaign to take a job with President Trump or in the private sector, the Daily News previously reported – although the mayor said on Monday that he would stay in the race until the end.
“I want you to look at my files and compare it to the files of those who run,” said Adams on Monday. “I was up to what I promised that I was going to work hard for you. No matter what my personal conflicts would have been, I got up every day, and I served this city well. ”
In a hypothetical head race between Mamdani and Cuomo, the democratic socialist would gain from ten points, from 49% to 39%, Cuomo earning majority support among the Republicans and 50% of support among non-affiliated, according to the survey.
The survey also revealed that among the Democrats, Mamdani obtained majority support at 58%, while Cuomo obtained 23% of those in the party.
Cuomo sought to call on moderate and conservative voters, saying repeatedly that he hoped that an electorate different from the primary election will prove to be voting.
If Adams was to abandon the race and Sliwa had to stay, Mamdani would receive 46% of the probable support of voters at 30% Cuomo and 18% of Sliwa.
The survey of 1,470 New Yorkers was carried out over three days last week, and it has a margin of error of 3.2 points.
Two surveys published last week also shown Mamdani with a big advance against the rest of the field: a Quinnipiac survey showed its 22 points above Cuomo, and an Emerson survey revealed that it was 15%.
