Rob Reiner Son Nick Reiner Has Been Charged with Murder

Nick Reiner, the son of Hollywood director Rob Reiner and producer Michele Singer Reiner, has been charged with murder in a case involving the deaths of his parents, Los Angeles County Executive Jim McDonnell announced.

“Our Robbery-Homicide Division is handling the investigation. They worked through the night on this case and were able to arrest Nick Reiner, a suspect in this case,” LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell said.

“He was subsequently incarcerated for murder and is being held on $4 million bail,” McDonnell added.

Los Angeles firefighters said they responded to a call for medical help shortly after 3:30 p.m. and found a 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman dead inside. Reiner turned 78 in March.

Homicide-robbery division detectives were investigating an “apparent homicide” at Reiner’s home, said Capt. Mike Bland of the Los Angeles Police Department. Investigators questioned a family member

Nick Reiner was even arrested overnight. He was taken into custody early Monday morning and booked into the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Jail around 7 a.m. Monday.
