The 7 best robot vacuums of 2025 after in-depth home testing

Read my first review of the Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller.
The Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller is the powerful robot vacuum to use for heavy-duty maintenance of frequent wet and dry spills. It would thrive in busy households with multiple children or pets, complex furniture arrangements, or multiple floor types, including steep thresholds in doorways or shallow sunken rooms separated by a step.
It’s not necessarily as detail-oriented when cleaning edges as the excellent Roborock Saros 10R, but it’s the robot vacuum most likely to come to the rescue for big messes at the moment.
The Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller is the new robot vacuum to beat. Its September 2025 release sets the stakes pretty high for the new wave of robot vacuums that will debut at CES 2026 in January and can climb stairs thresholds of up to 3.15 inches in height are hardly its preeminent advantage.
The biggest number here is actually 30,000, as in 30,000 Pa of suction power – a new market high and a fearsome 8,000 Pa more powerful than Roborock’s most powerful robot vacuums. I can attest to its tenacity after recording exceptional pickup rates on debris obstacle courses in my apartment, crystal cat litter on a tile floor, crushed crackers and rice on the hardwood kitchen floor, and mega clumps of cat hair on a medium-pile carpet. I still think it’s wise to enable double cleaning passes (instead of just one) in the application, as the side brush tends to push debris out of the cleaning path.
If you’ve been disappointed in the past by the lazy or streaky cleaning of a cheaper 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, I think a roller mop robot vacuum should be your next step. Dreame calls it FluffRoll technology: a robust force pressing the ultra-soft fibers onto the floor and into cracks or grout to scrub stubborn dried-on grime caused by heavy shoe or paw traffic. The texture and size of the roller is simply more absorbent than the thinner pads I’ve seen in other hybrid robot vacuums – in my apartment, the Aqua10 Ultra Roller effectively wiped up a variety of spill consistencies, from strawberry wine daiquiri mix, to buffalo sauce and ranch dressing, to a thick pudge of icing after a devastating cupcake fall.
I also think the wet roller actually helps this Dreame vacuum better, capturing finer particles like protein powder or litter dust better than dry vacuuming alone. The roller rinses itself during cleaning to avoid spreading messes, and cleans with a legitimate cleaning solution, which is helpfully included in the box.
The Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller has brains behind its brawn. The live pet camera is becoming a no-brainer with all the new releases of high-end robot vacuums, and it’s the most accurate phone charger avoidance technology I’ve seen in a long time.
