Roger Staubach surprises Brian Schottenheimer at news conference

Frisco, Texas – About six minutes in the Friday press conference on Friday of Brian Schottenheimer, there was a blow to the door. It was the temple of Dallas Cowboys Roger Staubach.

“Oh, my graceful kindness,” said Schottenheimer after seeing Staubach, then shake his hand. “I’m going to stop what I’m doing for that.”

Staubach called Schottenheimer his favorite coach and said: “I thought you might be used to me, but maybe not … I can still launch.”

Schotenheimer replied, “hey, you could always. I never worry about your legs [either]RIGHT?”

Staubach, 83, won two Super Bowls with the Cowboys in the 1970s. He obtained the nickname of Captain Comeback and was inducted at the Temple of Professional Football in 1985.

“I shoot for you,” said Staubach, adding: “I still love cowboys … It’s incredible how when I sit down and start to watch the match, I feel like I was there.”

Staubach had advice.

“Right now, we’re fine,” he said, “but we’re going to get better.”

“No doubt. This is the plan,” replied Schotenheimer.

Schottenheimer was appointed head coach on January 24. It was his first interaction with Staubach.

“This is why I try not to show all my emotions,” said Schottenheimer. “Are you going to see me jump in the corridor. I could even call the guys and say to myself:” Hey, guess who I just dragged? Did he come to see me? “No, as I said, I am a football drug addict, and [he’s] One of the best of all time, guy. “”
