LeBron James says he's not waiting on his son Bryce to enter NBA

The big question surrounding LeBron James these days is how long he will play in the NBA. He enters the last year of his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, and even he may not have an idea how long he wants to stay in the league or with the team.

Some believe that the 2025-26 season will be its last. Others believe that he will seek to play one and perhaps even two additional seasons, in part because his youngest son, Bryce, will be eligible for the NBA draft next year and that he would like to play alongside them.

At Lakers Media Day this week, the elder James insisted that he was "does not wait" The youngest James.

“I’m not sitting here, no, I’m not waiting for Bryce,” LeBron said on the Lakers media day. “I do not know what his calendar is, he is his own young man now, he is in Tucson. We will see what is happening this year, next year, but he has his own chronology, I had my calendar and I do not know if they correspond completely. But we will see.”

The young James begins at the University of Arizona this fall. The 18-year-old played last season at the Sierra Canyon school last season in the San Fernando valley, and at 6 feet 5 inches, he might have potential for Brut.

The eldest James already shared the court with his eldest son, Bonny, last season during the same match. Bronny James was drafted by the Lakers in the second round of the 2024 draft and made progress in the section last season and during the Las Vegas Summer League in July.
