BBC News and three main press agencies have expressed their desperate concern for journalists in Gaza, who, according to them, are increasingly unable to feed themselves and their families.

Those who report the Gaza conflict are now confronted with famine and “the same disastrous circumstances as those they cover”, a joint declaration by BBC News, said Agency France-Press (AFP), Associated Press (AP) and Reuters.

“For several months, these independent journalists have been the eyes and ears of the world in the field in Gaza,” he says.

International media are based on local journalists in Gaza, because Israel does not allow foreign media, including the BBC News, to send journalists to the territory.

It occurs because more than 100 international aid organizations and human rights groups have warned against mass famine in Gaza.

The complete statement can be read as follows: “We are desperately concerned about our journalists in Gaza, who are increasingly unable to feed themselves and their families.

“For several months, these independent journalists have been the eyes and ears of the world on the ground in Gaza. They are now faced with the same disastrous circumstances as those they cover.

“Journalists end up many deprivation and difficulties in war areas. We are deeply alarmed that the threat of famine is now one.

“We again urge the Israeli authorities to allow journalists to enter and leave Gaza. It is essential that adequate food supplies reach people there.”

In a separate joint declaration, doctors Without borders (MSF), except children and Oxfam, said their colleagues and people they serve “wasted”.

But Israel, which controls the entry of supplies to Gaza, accused the charity of “serving Hamas propaganda”.

Since Sunday, 45 Palestinians have died following malnutrition, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, managed by Hamas.

Israel prevented Deliveries of Aid in Gaza in early March after a two-month-old ceasefire.

The blockade was partially lifted after almost two months, but the shortages of food and medicine have worsened.

Israel, as well as the United States, has helped establish a new controversial aid system managed by Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).

Hundreds of murders have been recorded near GHF help sites since they started working eight weeks ago.

The World Health Organization said that a quarter of the Gaza population was facing famine type conditions, according to its assessments.

Wednesday, its director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said: “I don’t know how you would call it other than mass famine, and it’s artificial.

“And it’s very clear, it’s because of the blockade.”
