Christianity is experiencing a revival among young people in Great Britain, with the number of 18-24 years believing in God increasing by almost 200% since 2021.

After decades of Christianity, the decline in Great Britain – falling to the point that the 2021 census noted that Christians had become a minority in England and in the land of Wales in the middle of the rise of atheism and Islam – there seems to be an indication of a reversal of tendency and a possible renewal of faith in the United Kingdom.

According to the tracker of the religious belief of Yougov, led twice a year, the number of 18 to 24 years, professing belief in God, went from 16% in August 2021 to 45% in January of this year, representing an increase of 181% in just three and a half years, reported GB News.

A smaller, but still significant increase was also recorded among people aged 25 to 49, the tracker recorded a leap of 21% in 2021 to 33% in 2025.

This coincided with an increase of 56% in those who frequent the church at least once a month between 2018 and 2024, the number of regular faithful from 3.7 million to 5.8 million.

The increase was largely the result of increasing participation in younger men, with only one out of 25 in 2018, against one in five in 2024. However, there was also an increase in young women, going from 3% to 12% over the same period. This means that the 18-24-year-old cohort is now the second probable age group to frequent the church every month.

The Lancastrian priest, Father Damian Feeney, told GB News that he thought that the growing number of young people interested in faith comes from a “need for structure, form and routine in their lives … and a desire for stability at a time when life otherwise may seem destabilized”.

“The desire for structure and order mentioned above led to a renewal of interest in traditional and liturgical worship in young adults. It is not the only type of growth, that’s for sure; But it is important. The use of beauty in language, color, music, drama in a fairly classic way has developed as an attraction ”, the father. Said Feeney.

“The spur and motivation to explore faith again can come from [secularism, uncertainty, or global challenges] But it should be clear that each individual will have their own story, their own trip. My personal opinion is that secularism simply seems too unidimensional and beige, with little excitement or mystery, but I would say that, right? “”

However, the increased interest in Christianity has not been at all levels, however, certain churches remain better than others, and the Anglican faith, in particular, to the train.

While the Catholic Church has seen attendance from 23% to 31% since 2018, and Pentecostal churches have seen an increase of six percent, the Anglican Church experienced a reduction of 41% to 34% in the same period.

This may denser the madness of the decision of the church management, in particular the former archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, pushing the awakened ideology in an apparent attempt to court the young.

Before resigning in disgrace earlier this year for the accusations of not having investigated the sexual abuse of children, Welby had been a leading defender of “social justice” such as the Marxist Black Lives Matter movement, going so far as to launch a campaign to serve the churches of the statues and monuments of the colonial era as well as to start a repair fund for the church for the church.
