Samsung Galaxy S26 will have ‘pixel level’ privacy feature, Samsung confirms

Samsung is preparing a new privacy feature for upcoming Galaxy phones.

The company announced in a rather vague blog post that it is preparing to introduce new security features that work “at the pixel level” for Galaxy phones in the near future. We don’t have a specific date yet to find out more, but the smart money would be on the next Galaxy Unpacked event, which would take place at the end of February.

We’ll likely see the new Galaxy S26 lineup at Unpacked, and with it, a glimpse of this new privacy shield.

Again, Samsung hasn’t delved into how this all works, but the company has claimed that it will be a way for you to do things like enter sensitive passwords in public spaces without strangers looking over your shoulder to see what you’re doing. It apparently has granular options that let you make the privacy feature work only with certain apps or censor notification pop-ups.

In a likely related development, recent leaks have all but confirmed that an innovative “Privacy View” feature is coming to the S26 phones. It seems pretty likely that the features will be the same, but if so, that would be pretty disappointing, since we already know about the Privacy View.

Ideally, by the end of February, Samsung will be able to talk more freely about all of this without being so vague.
