Trump Directs DHS Not to Participate in ‘Poorly Run’ Dem Cities’ Protests

President Donald Trump revealed that he told Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem that the administration would not participate in protests and riots with “various mismanaged Democratic cities.”
In an article on Truth Social, Trump explained that the goal would be to keep “all federal buildings under attack” by protesters and rioters.
“I have asked Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem that under no circumstances are we going to participate in various Democratic cities that are being mismanaged with regard to their protests and/or riots unless and until they ask us for help,” Trump said. “We will, however, guard, and very powerfully, any federal buildings that are attacked by these highly paid lunatics, agitators, and insurrectionists.”
Trump warned that he has also asked Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Border Patrol to be “very forceful in this protection of federal government assets.” Trump added that they would not tolerate actions such as protesters “spitting in the face” of ICE and Border Patrol officials, or throwing rocks or bricks at vehicles.
“If that is the case, these people will face equal, if not greater, consequences,” Trump continued. “In the meantime, by copy of this declaration, I am informing local governments, as I did in Los Angeles during the riots at the end of the Biden term, that you must protect your own state and local property. Additionally, it is your obligation to also protect our federal property, our buildings, our parks and everything else.”
Trump continued to explain that his administration was “there to protect federal property, only as a backup,” and brought up how protesters in Eugene, Oregon, “broke into a federal building” Friday night.
The Eugene Police Department released a statement saying the “activity” at the federal building was “declared a riot” and that some protesters “broke into the building and got inside.”
According to Oregon Live, “federal agents reportedly used tear gas to try to prevent protesters from entering the building.”
Trump’s message continues in part:
If local governments are unable to handle the insurrectionists, agitators, and anarchists, we will immediately go wherever such assistance is requested and take care of the situation very easily and methodically, just as we did during the Los Angeles riots a year ago, where the police chief said, “We couldn’t have done it without the help of the federal government.” Therefore, to all the local governments, governors and mayors who are complaining, let us know when you are ready, and we will be there. But before you do, you need to use the word “PLEASE”. Remember I said, in the strongest language, to BE CAREFUL: ICE, the Border Patrol or, if necessary, our military, will be extremely strong and tough in protecting our federal property. We will not allow our courthouses, federal buildings, or anything under our protection to be damaged in any way. I was elected on the basis of a policy of border control (which is now perfected!), national security and RULE AND RULE — That’s what America wants, and that’s what America gets!
Trump’s message comes as he previously said during an interview with Fox News’ Will Cain that his administration would begin a de-escalation in terms of ICE operations in Minnesota, Fox News reported. Trump’s words came after a shooting involving a Border Patrol agent last weekend claimed the life of 37-year-old Alex Pretti.
Pretti’s fatal shooting came after Renee Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent earlier this month. Good was accused of using her vehicle as a weapon against ICE agents who were trying to free their vehicle from the snow.
After Pretti’s death, Trump announced he would send border czar Tom Homan to Minnesota.
