Scouting Saturday: Six prospects for Packers fans to watch
It’s Week 11 of the college football season and the 2026 NFL Draft is 167 days away. This Saturday scouting will focus heavily on the trenches after the Green Bay Packers allowed Rico Dowdle to run in them last Sunday.
No. 7 BYU vs. No. 8 Texas Tech (11 a.m. ABC)
Lee Hunter, DT, Texas Tech: A transfer from UCF, Hunter has natural girth to clog up running routes. Texas Tech’s defensive tackle isn’t just a traffic cone; he is an active presence within. In his final two seasons at UCF, Hunter recorded 61 run stops, 49 pressures, 20.5 tackles for loss and four sacks. He has strong hands to clear blockers and place them on the ball carrier.
Keanu Tanuvasa, DT, BYU: Transfer from Utah, Tanuvasa is strong at the point of attack to control his gap. He has the strength to root against double teams. He may not be a top player, but he does the dirty work in the trenches.
No. 3 Texas A&M vs. No. 22 Missouri (2:30 p.m. ABC)
Tyler Onyedim, DT, Texas A&M: A transfer from Iowa State, Onyedim is a run-stopper. He plays with active hands and has a knack for working on blocks to get runs stops. Over the past two weeks, the Texas A&M defensive tackle has recorded five running stops and 0.5 tackles for loss. As the Packers look to bolster depth inside the defensive line, Onyedim could be a late Day 3 target.
Josiah Trotter, LB, Missouri: Jeremiah Trotter’s son is a downhill enforcer. The Missouri linebacker has recorded 17 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, nine run stops and three pressures over the last two games. Trotter has touch-to-touch range and looks like he was shot out of a cannon when he attacks downhill.
No. 9 Oregon vs. No. 20 Iowa (2:30 p.m. CBS)
Bear Alexander, DT, Oregon: The USC and Georgia transfer has the early quickness to disrupt the action behind the line of scrimmage and the power to root against double teams and control his gap against the run. The Oregon defensive tackle has really turned things around over the past three weeks, recording 3.5 tackles for loss, five pressures and 11 run stops.
Gennings Dunker, OL, Iowa: The Packers will almost certainly invest a draft pick on the offensive line in the 2026 draft. A potential target on Day 2 or early Day 3 of the draft is Dunker. The Iowa offensive lineman started 32 games at right tackle and one game at right guard. Dunker is a run blocker. He takes no prisoners and defensive linemen are happy to get out of the play alive when they line up across from Dunker.
The Packers have struggled to run the ball consistently this season. They need a tone setter on the interior of the defensive line and they need one on the offensive line as well. Dunker could be a potential candidate with his ability to play tackle and guard.
