Sen. Bernie Moreno Praises ‘Flawless Execution’ of Maduro Capture
Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) praised the operation led by President Donald Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to capture Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, calling it a “flawless execution of a very difficult mission.”
Talk with Breitbart News Saturday host Matthew Boyle, the Ohio senator, revealed that he was briefed by Hegseth following the early Saturday morning arrest of Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.
“It is, Matt, what you could say, a perfect execution and demonstration of what America First means. First of all, our military men and women have done an absolutely incredible job,” he said. “I had a minute to speak to Secretary of War Hegseth – he briefed me on some details. I mean…absolutely flawless execution of a very difficult mission, that’s number one. Second, we have a President of the United States who will not tolerate anyone harming American citizens.”

Calling Maduro a narcoterrorist, Moreno argued that his capture is justified because he is “responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of American citizens.”
“He brought poison into our country. He sent mentally ill people, criminals and gang members into our country – not in small numbers,” the senator added.

The dictator had been research by US law enforcement on several narcoterrorism charges, with a $50 million fine prime to obtain information leading to his arrest and/or conviction.
Maduro is expected is scheduled to appear in New York’s Southern District Court on Monday, facing multiple narcoterrorism, drug and weapons charges, according to NewsNation.
“Maduro and his wife will soon face the full might of American justice and will be tried on American soil,” Trump said at a press conference. “From now on, Maduro will never again be able to threaten an American citizen or anyone from Venezuela. »
Moreno went on to say that Trump doesn’t “shake” when he says he’s going to do something.
Trump repeatedly pressured Maduro throughout December, establishing a blockade of all sanctioned tankers entering or leaving Venezuela and warning to the dictator that “it would be intelligent” for him to abandon his power.
“That means no more illegal migration from Venezuela, no more gang members taking over apartment buildings in Colorado, [and] no more death squads are sent to our country,” Moreno said of Maduro’s capture.
The Colombian-born senator later called the event “the most important day in Latin America in probably over 100 years.”

Maduro’s capture on January 3 was days away from Moreno’s previous prediction that he would fall from power by the end of December 2025.
“We will not tolerate a narcoterrorist who harms the United States. We will treat terrorists as the United States has treated them in the past.
