Brown to face off against Husted for US Senate seat

Ohio voters have chosen the Democratic candidate they want to see in the general election.

Democrat Sherrod Brown, incumbent Republican Jon Husted and Libertarian William Redpath will face off for a U.S. Senate seat in November.

Husted ran uncontested.

Brown was challenged by Ron Kincaid (D).

As previously reported, in early 2025, Governor Mike DeWine nominated Lt. Governor Husted to fill Vice President J.D. Vance’s Senate seat.

Husted previously served as an Ohio State Representative, Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives, Ohio State Senator, and Lieutenant Governor.

Brown previously served as an Ohio State Representative, Ohio Secretary of State, and Ohio 13th Party Congressman.th District and a senator.

He lost his Senate seat to Republican Bernie Moreno in 2024.

The general elections will take place on November 3, 2026.
