Air Senegal announced that the fan, widely identified as Mouhamed Saliou Ndiaye, reached Moroccan soil to support the Téranga Lions in their showdown with Egypt at the Grand Stade de Tangier.
The story gained momentum after the airline posted images on X asking its followers to help locate the fan and promising him an all-expenses-paid trip to Morocco.
“
Ndiaye became a viral figure during the 2022 World Cup qualifiers between Senegal and Egypt when he was seen directing a laser pointer at Mohamed Salah during the penalty shootout.
“He left an unforgettable impression during our last meeting with Egypt,” writes Air Sénégal. “Since then, an entire nation has been convinced: he is our lucky charm”
Within hours, the airline confirmed its success: Ndiaye had been found and flown to support Senegal in one of the tournament’s biggest fixtures.
