The White House Apparently Ordered Federal Workers to Roll Out Grok ‘ASAP’

The White House seems to have asked the managers of the General Services Administration (GSA) to add the XAI Grok chatbot to a list of approved suppliers “as soon as possible”, according to an e-mail sent by the agency management earlier this week, which has been cabled.
“Team: Grok / Xai must return to the calendar as soon as possible by WH,” said the email, sent by the commissioner of the federal acquisition service Josh Gruenbaum. “Can someone get with Carahsoft on this subject immediately and please confirm?” Carahsoft is an important government entrepreneur who resells third -party business technology.
“Should be all their products that we had before (3 and 4),” continued the email, apparently referring to Grok 3 and Grok 4. The object line of the email was “XAI Add Grok-4”.
Sources indicate that the Carahsoft contract has been changed to include XAI earlier this week. GROK 3 and GROK 4 is currently appearing on GSA ADAVE (an online market for government agencies to buy products and services) on Friday morning. Now, following a few internal journals, any government agency can get rid of Grok to federal workers.
The White House and the GSA did not respond to a request for wired comments.
The email comes after a partnership planned with XAI collapsed earlier this summer following the generalized praise of Grok for Hitler and the jet of other anti -Semitic beliefs on X, Wired previously reported.
In June, XAI employees met with the GSA management for a two -hour brainstorming session to discuss how the XAI Grok chatbot could be used by the government. Federal workers were surprised to see their leaders put pressure for a contract with a company that markets a chatbot not censored with a history of erratic behavior. In early July, Grok, which was integrated into the social platform of Elon Musk X, apparently left the rails and began to rent Hitler. The management of the GSA has removed GROK from the multiple reward calendar, which is the GSA long-term public procurement platform, according to agency sources. When GSA announced Buzzy partnerships with Openai, Anthropic and Google earlier this month, XAI was not mentioned at all.
XAI is Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup. Musk, who also directs social network X in addition to a number of other companies, has played a crucial role in the so-called Ministry of Government (DOGE) by President Donald Trump. He fell in front of his role to the public in Doge this spring, following a massive fight with the president. A number of its partners continue to work in the government which pushes the agenda to reduce Doge and AI.
