Acer’s new OLED gaming monitor hits a blistering 720Hz, with a catch

What speed do you need for your game instructor? If the answer is “never enough”, Acer would like a word. Its new 27 -inch OLED strikes 720 Hz, more than enough to put the most intense PCs on knees with new titles. The company also shows a cheaper IPS-LCD which can reach 275 Hz.
The Predator X27 U is the speed Demon here, hitting 720 Hz… with a notable socket. This incredible speed comes from the reduction of the resolution to 1280 × 720, half of the native 1440p resolution of the instructor – a compromise that sports pros could well be willing to do. If you maximize the pixels, the maximum speed is always a Very incredibly fast 540 Hz. Other advantages include the support of the Type-C USB for video (90 Watts) in addition to HDMI and DisplayPort inputs, response time of 0.01 ms, 555 nits of pic brightness (335 typical) and 99%DCI-P3 color coverage. Naturally, it will support AMD Freesync Premium Pro, but there is no mention of G -Sync – I think it is a situation “compatible and not certified”.

The new OLED will arrive in the first quarter of 2026, scheduled for $ 1,300 USD. He arrives in China at the same time for 10,000 RMBs, but Europe, the Middle East and the largest Asia will have to wait for the second quarter for a price of 1,200 EUR. With all the uncertainty of international trade at the moment, consider all prices as somewhat flexible so far.

If it’s too rich for your blood, you might be interested in the lowest nitro XV273U W1. For 300 USD or 279 euros, you get a 27-inch and 1440p IPS-LCD screen which can strike 275 Hz, very respectable for a smaller and cheaper game monitor with high quality color coverage (95% DCI-P3). I have the impression that it could be a good adjustment for a mid-range office configuration-and I mean an office, because there is no USB-C or even USB-A on the specifications sheet. He will be released in early 2026.
