Colts, LT Bernhard Raimann sign 4-year, $100M deal, source confirms

The Indianapolis colts have locked one of their most important players for the years to come.
The left platform Bernhard Raimann, a former close end in the center of Michigan which has transformed in one of the most essential players of the team, signed a contract extension, the team announced on Tuesday.
The extension is four years and is worth 100 million dollars, confirmed a team source.
Raimann, a choice of rebate of third round in 2022, entered the last year of his recruit contract, but the extension maintains it out of the market next spring. He showed a spectacular improvement of each year of his career and last season made a jump which demonstrated that he could manage the critical position in the predictable future.
The colts think that Raimann has even more room for growth. He only played in the offensive tackle since his junior year at university, during the 2020 short -term season (six games).
“Bernhard has worked extremely hard, and this contract extension testifies to his character, his dedication and his persistence,” said Director General Chris Ballard in a press release. “He illustrates each of the four pillars of our team and is a leader in our locker room. I am excited for him and his family on this well -deserved contract extension.”
The Raimann of Austrian origin came to the United States as a student in exchange during his first year of high school, but he had already been presented to football in his country of origin. This led to its rapid ascent and an opportunity to play at university.
But despite its rapid development in Indianapolis, there was a doubt that this agreement could be concluded.
More recently than last week, Raimann suggested during an interview with Indianapolis Radio Station 107.5-FM that the respective teams were distant in the negotiations.
“According to my understanding, they are not on the same wavelength,” he said. “From my understanding is that the figures do not yet add up, the path [the Colts] Value my position differently from my [agents] think it’s the case. But we work there. “”
Keeping Raimann in place was important for the colts due to timing. Indianapolis reorganizes its offensive line after the departures of the free agency from the quadruple center of Pro Bowl Ryan Kelly and the right guard Will Fries. The two players joined the Vikings of Minnesota.
NFL Network first pointed out the terms of the Raimann contract.
