Don Lemon Accuses Stephen A. Smith of ‘Cozying Up to White People’ with Take on ICE Shooting

Former CNN host Don Lemon believes the only reason Stephen A. Smith defends the ICE agent who shot Renee Good is because he’s trying to “get closer to white people.”
Lemon, who apparently has never watched ESPN if he thinks there are friendly relations with white people there, accused Smith of calling the shooting “justified” as a ploy to get “money.”
“I try not to criticize, especially black men, or just black people in general, you know, because we get so much crap. The rules are different for us,” Lemon began. “But Stephen A. Smith goes off and talks shit he has no idea about.”
Lemon continued: “He’s just interested in these, like White Boy, right-wing podcasts or his own show, and just talking about black people and things he has no idea about.”
The former CNN host added: “It’s just shocking to me, this kind of cozying up to white people. And it has to be for the money.”
Lemon then thought about how much money he could make as a conservative black journalist.
“If I became a black conservative, I would be richhhhh!” » Exclaimed Citron. “Like a billionaire.”
Stephen A. Smith is of course richly compensated. Although his eight-figure contract is due to his sports stances, not so much his political words.
Lemon’s criticism of Smith stems from the ESPN speaker’s comments earlier in the week when he called the actions of the ICE agent who shot and killed anti-ICE protester Renee Good “completely justified.”
However, Smith also said the officer could have shot Good’s tires instead of shooting him.
“I’ve seen the video numerous times, and given what happened, from a legal standpoint as far as a law enforcement officer is concerned, I don’t expect him to be prosecuted,” Smith said. “It was completely justified. From a humanitarian standpoint, though, why did you have to do that? If you could have gotten out of the way, that means you could have shot the tires. That means you could have moved her a few feet away after shooting the tires; and if you couldn’t have done that, you could have driven her down the road. You didn’t have to do that. She wasn’t driving on the road, coming toward you at 90 miles on time. She was parked in the middle of the street, and rather than got out of the car, she wrongly attempted to leave and wrongly ignored law enforcement officials – which is exactly what ICE is – and, as a result, lost her life because of it.
Lemon continued his scathing criticism of the ESPN speaker by saying that Smith’s “actions and dealings” had shifted from sports to denigrating black people.
Good and the ICE officer who shot him are white. It is therefore unclear why he considers the problem to be racial. Smith also doesn’t ingratiate himself with his colleagues at ESPN by defending ICE officers, since the overwhelming majority of them are liberal.
Then again, making sense has never been Lemon’s strong point.
