Miley Cyrus Just Wore Her Natural Waves, and We’re Getting Major Nostalgia

When it comes to hair, we’ve learned to expect the unexpected from Miley Cyrus. From faded punk pixies to jellyfish cuts, the singer loves a statement style, but this week she was spotted wearing her natural waves.

While out and about in Los Angeles, Cyrus was seen wearing straight jeans and a boxy jacket, but her effortless hairstyle made the look. She sports plenty of length and natural texture in her loose, bouncy waves, as well as flattering, face-framing layers in place of her recent micro bangs. We’ve seen Cyrus’ hair both slicked back and teased to the nines in her recent red carpet spins, but her street style moments have been few and far between. From the looks of it, she’s spent her time away from the spotlight perfecting her wavy hair routine.

Cyrus’ current hair makes us especially nostalgic for her OG Disney Channel character Miley Stewart’s long brown waves, and every time, they fall dramatically from that iconic blonde wig on Hannah Montana. With high-contrast Y2K blonde highlights threaded into her natural caramel color, she brings the “best of both worlds” to fall 2025.

In a summer interview on Sirius XM, Cyrus said she wanted to do something “really special” in tribute to Hannah Montana for the series’ 20th anniversary in 2026. And even as fans’ imaginations run wild with touring fantasies, we still don’t know what it’s going to look like. In the meantime, we want Miley Cyrus to return to her roots, literally and figuratively.
