Neon is available on iOS and Android. The company saves outgoing user phone calls and pays them to $ 30 per day for regular calls or 30 cents per minute if the call is to another neon user. User calls non -neon pay 15 cents per minute. The application also offers $ 30 for references.

The company promises that it only draws from the recording on one side of the telephone conversation, that of the caller, which seems to be a means of bypassing the laws of the states which prohibit the registration of telephone calls without authorization.

While many states require only one person on a call, namely that a call is recorded, others, including California, Florida and Maryland, have laws that require all parties during a telephone call consenting to registration. The application does not record regular telephone application calls, only those made in the NEON application or received from another person using neon.

Techcrunch, one of the first sites to write on the application, stressed that sharing vocal data can be a security risk, even if a company promises to delete data identification information.
