President Donald Trump said Thursday that he was thinking of organizing a UFC match on the White House field with 20,000 higher spectators to celebrate 250 years of American independence.

“We have a lot of land there,” said Trump, an UFC enthusiast who has attended several of his mixed martial arts matches in recent months and is a close friend of Dana White, the president of the League.

Trump announced his plan in Iowa during the kick -off for a year of festivities to celebrate the American 250th anniversary on July 4, 2026.

The Republican President also announced a festival culminating on the National Mall in Washington and a distinct sports competition featuring high school athletes from across the country.

“Thus, each of our national parks, battlefields and historic sites will have special events in honor of America 250. And I even think we are going to have a UFC fight,” said Trump.

“Think about it in the White House field. We have a lot of land there, “he said, adding that it would be a” full fight “with 20,000 to 25,000 people.

A White House spokesman said they had no details to share beyond the president’s announcement, but the White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump was “seriously dead” about these plans.

Trump recently appreciated the standing ovations and the cage side seats for several UFC fights, including an appearance immediately after his re -election in 2024 and another last month alongside White for two championship fights.
