Three weeks after the United States beat Canada in the Olympic hockey final, the Americans once again defeated their neighbors to win Paralympic gold and complete their hat-trick in Milan Cortina.

Jack Wallace scored a hat-trick to help the United States beat Canada 6-2 in the para ice hockey final on Sunday and become the first nation to win hockey tournaments at the Olympics and Paralympics. There is currently no women’s division at the Paralympics as they are classified as a sport open to both men and women.

Sunday marked a fifth consecutive Paralympic title for the United States and its captain, Josh Pauls.

While the Olympics saw the U.S. men’s team win gold for the first time since the Miracle on Ice in 1980, it’s a very different story at the Paralympics. The United States has won six of the last seven editions of the Winter Paralympics. It was a third straight loss in the final for Canada, which won its only gold medal in para ice hockey on Italian ice, in Turin in 2006.

Earlier, China won a second consecutive bronze medal after conceding two goals in the first three minutes to beat the Czech Republic 3-2.

Sunday’s final set a new attendance record for the sport at a major tournament as 10,755 spectators filled the stands to near capacity.

The mark was set in the tournament’s opening match, with the preliminary round match between the United States and hosts Italy attracting 8,992 spectators.
