A professor who was withdrawn from his post to call the founder of Turning Point USA Charlie Kirk a “Nazi” and claiming that Kirk’s family “deserved” in an article on Facebook was reinstated by a district court.

Clinton’s judge Karen E. Schreie made a temporary ban order on Wednesday by restoring the professor of the University of Southern Dakota, Phillip Michael in his post, judging that his declaration constituted a freedom of protected expression and that the university could not punish him. Hook wrote the position on September 10, the same day, Kirk was assassinated during a speaking event on campus at Utah Valley University. “Okay. I don’t give a F *** flying about this Kirk person,” said Hook online. “Apparently, he was a hatred that spread the Nazi. I did not preach enough attention to the just silly bangs to find out who he was. I am sorry for his family that he was a hatred that spread Nazi and killed himself. I am sure they deserved better. Maybe good people could now enter their lives.”

“But decidedly, where was this concern when the politicians of Minnesota were slaughtered? And the school shots? And the Capitol police?” The hook continued. “I have no thought or prayer for this hatred that spreads Nazi. A shoulder to be shy, perhaps. ”

Three hours after the position, Hook chose to delete it and published apologies on his account.

“Apparently, my frustration with the sudden assault on the cover concerning a guy who pulled today led to a post that I mowing [sic] The regret has published, “said Hook.” I am sure that many people have fully understood my premise, but the simple fact that some were offended led me to withdraw the position. I indicate these public apology to those who have been offended. OM Shanti. “”

At this point, however, it was too late. Republican president of the southern Dakota of the Chamber, Jon Hansen, spoke out against Hook for his post, saying that he was “disgusted” by the “hateful and vile comments” and declaring that he had contacted the president of the university to call for the termination of Hook.

“Yesterday, I was informed of these hateful comments and vile facts by a professor from the University of Southern Dakota concerning the death of the family of Charlie Kirk and Charlie. I am disgusted by his remarks, and I think they are improper someone who works and represents our university”, posted Hansen to X. “Not to be tolerated.

The Republican Governor of South Dakota Larry Rhoden also called at the end of Hook.

“When I read this post, I was shaking crazy,” said Rhoden in a post reacting to the original Hook message. “The Board of Regents intends to dismiss this professor at the University of Southern Dakota, and I am happy. This person stands in front of the South Dakota students to educate them. We must not send the message to our children that it is an acceptable public speech. We need more Charlie Kirks on campus and less hatred like this. ”

Hook was quickly put on administrative leave and informed by the University of its “intention to suspend it”, citing “incapacity … to exercise its assigned functions” and a policy which stipulates that even when the teachers speak “as private citizens”, they must be accurate and respectful and understand that their position “imposes special obligations”, according to the court of the court.

Hook then filed a complaint against the school for “unconstitutional reprisals against the basic political discourse in violation of the first amendment”. The court granted Hook a temporary ban order until October 8.

Hook is one of the many professors punished for rhetoric published online after Kirk’s death. Many teachers and teachers made fun publicly or encouraged the assassination, which led to similar endings. Others were punished for supporting and commented on the conservative chief killed.
