“Not only did it not burn, but it wasn’t even shot at – Iran knows better than that! The story was knowingly FALSE and, in a way, you can say that the media that generated it should be prosecuted for treason and spreading false information!” Trump declaimed. “The fact is that Iran is decimated, and the only battles it ‘wins’ are the ones it creates with AI and are broadcast by corrupt media. The radical left press knows this very well, but they continue to advance with false stories and LIES.”
Trump then praised Federal Communications Commission head Brendan Carr for threatening “the licenses of some of these corrupt and highly unpatriotic news organizations.” Carr on Saturday threatened to revoke the broadcast licenses of local media outlets that he said were sharing “fake” news.
The president has long attacked the media for even the slightest critical coverage of him, but the militarization of the FCC during his second term adds cause for concern on this subject. Under Carr’s tenure, the FCC attacked several television networks, including BNC, ABCAnd CBSciting various excuses, including DEI and new interpretations of existing statutes.
