The Pittsburgh Steelers currently sit at 4-1 and lead the AFC North. This week, the Steelers have a short week to jump right into a second straight AFC North game, this time against the Cincinnati Bengals. This significantly reduces the window for injured players to be ready to play, and that’s bad news for wide receiver Calvin Austin III.

Pittsburgh had its first practice of the week Tuesday, and Austin missed it as he continues to deal with a shoulder injury. The team also listed Austin as a DNP on Monday, although it was a sham report and the team didn’t run.

If Austin can’t go Thursday night, it will be his second missed game in a row. Austin injured his shoulder during the Steelers’ win over the Minnesota Vikings in Dublin, Ireland. Since Austin’s fall, the Steelers have moved their entire offense away from the wide receiver position outside of DK Metcalf and are using multiple tight ends and running backs in the passing game and have completely given up on keeping defenses honest with a second wide receiver.
