Live stock market updates, Thursday February 12, 2026: Indian equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty are expected to get off to a steady start on Thursday amid mixed global backdrop.
At around 6:45 am, the GIFT Nifty was trading at 25,998 levels, up 25.50 points or 0.10 percent.
Asian markets were trading higher on Thursday, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 index surpassing the 58,000 mark for the first time as its post-election rally continued to gain momentum. Investor optimism was supported by stronger confidence in the ruling government’s domestic politics and economic policies. Last checked, Japan’s Nikkei 225 index rose 0.5 percent, South Korea’s KOSPI index rose 1.9 percent and Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 index rose 0.6 percent.
In U.S. markets, major stock indexes closed slightly lower on Wednesday as investors weighed a wave of corporate earnings as well as a stronger-than-expected U.S. jobs report for January. Overnight, the S&P 500 was flat, the Nasdaq Composite was down 0.16 percent and the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.13 percent.
