Strengths, weaknesses and wildcards at Cowboys QB position in 2025
In recent seasons, the Dallas Cowboys quarter-Arrière room has been a stability model in the NFL. Dak Prescott operated at peak levels, Cooper Rush was a stable veteran backup and Trey Lance was the Joker and the third wheel mainly unknown.
After letting Rush go to the free agency, the cowboys suddenly had a vacancy in QB2. To make things worse, Prescott came out of a season during which he was both considerably injured and poor in performance. For the first time in years, the QB room had concerns.
Cowboys force in QB: Dak Prescott
It is important to keep in mind, Prescott is only a year from a finalist MVP season. And on the basis of statistics which generally signal the MVP, Prescott should have been the winner this season (but we are not bitter). The Prescott game is based on Downfield readings, well -timed outings and the solid precision of rock. These features generally age well so even if the athletic prowess of Prescott do another step here in its 10th Season, he should always perform well as a smuggler.
Prescott may not have a complementary racing game to keep the defenses on Tilt, but he has some Nifty weapons at Ceedee Lamb and George Pickens and a new game player in Brian Schottenheimer who is determined to facilitate things for his star QB.
Weakness of cowboys with QB: sustainability
One of the main discussions of the offseason focused on the sudden fragility of Prescott. He has missed at least five games in three of the last five seasons. It is the type of attendance record that can spell a disaster for a team with post-season hopes.
More on the list is Rush, the faithful backup. It will rarely be up to Will Grier or the Joe Milton often erratic to save the Cowboys season should again fall Prescott. Working against the health and safety of the position is the situation of a very suspicious offensive tackle and the potentially problematic race game.

The cowboys joker in QB: Joe Milton
Milton is the kind of QB that can make a coach turn or have a coach devote. The supremely talented 25 -year -old has the kind of potential that inspires dreams. He also has the coherence that causes nightmares, press pimples and appropriate guardianship.
The number of results offers Milton is as wide as Baskin Robbins. It could be the next big flight, cowboys stumbling up or it could just be another perspective that has never reached its potential. It may well be the most interesting thing to look in the camp this summer.
