Supreme Court throws out appellate rulings in favor of transgender people in 4 states

Washington – WASHINGTON (AP) – The Supreme Court returned the appeal decisions for transgender persons in four states on Monday following the recent decision of judges confirming a prohibition of Tennessee on certain medical treatments for young transgender people.
But the judges did not take any measure in the cases of Arizona, Idaho and Virginia-Western involving the participation of transgender students in the school sports teams. The court could say as soon as Thursday if it will address the question in its next mandate.
The High Court ordered the appeal judges to re-examine the affairs of Idaho, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Virginia-Western involving access to medical care and birth certificates.
The action was not surprising because the court had put the business aside until it decides the Tennessee case, as generally occurs when the same legal problem is examined.
The decisions included all the conclusions that the restrictions on transgender persons imposed by states violate the equal protection clause of the Constitution.
In the Tennessee case, the Supreme Court judged that there was no constitutional violation in a law of the State prohibiting puberty blockers and hormone therapy to treat gender dysphoria in people under the age of 18.
The judges ordered the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, to examine its decision according to which the refusal of Virginia-Western and North Carolina to cover certain health care for transgender persons with insurance sponsored by the government is discriminatory.
The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, based in San Francisco, will recover a case of Idaho arising from the prohibition of the state of certain surgical procedures for the beneficiaries of Medicaid.
The 10th Circuit Court of Appeals from US in Denver will examine its decision blocking the ban on Oklahoma on people who change their sex on birth certificates.
In another case, from Kentucky, the judges rejected the appeal of transgender minors and their families contesting the ban on this state of affirmative care.
