Sony is reportedly considering pushing back the PlayStation 6 debut to 2028 or 2029, according to people familiar with the matter interviewed by Bloomberg. Mashable reported in December that this could happen, so the bad news was only confirmed. Previous leaks estimated the PS6 release for 2027.

Additionally, due to the lack of memory, Nintendo is apparently considering raising the price of the Switch 2 later this year, according to Bloomberg. In 2025, rumors surfaced that the price of the Switch 2 would increase due to tariffs, but this did not come to fruition.

Neither Sony nor Nintendo responded to Bloomberg’s request for comment.
