Sydney Sweeney was missing from a Euphoria group photo after Zendaya “refused to stand next to her” amid their “bitter feud.”

In November 2025, the Daily Mail revealed that Zendaya, 29, refused to go on press calls with her co-star for the upcoming third season.

We also reported that the reason they refused to stand next to each other at events was because of their different political views.

And now, in the teaser for the third season of Euphoria, Sydney is absent from the group photo at the beginning.

American teen drama Euphoria, based on the series of the same name by Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin, became a huge hit after its premiere on HBO in 2019.

It was shortly followed by a second season in 2022 and fans are now eagerly awaiting the release of the third season – which will be released next month.

The show follows the crazy lives of a group of girlfriends and what they do as wild, sex-obsessed teenagers.

HBO recently explained what to expect with a new promotional social media video on X and TikTok with the caption: “Taking the smallest moments and dreaming them into something bigger.” #Euphoria’.

At the start of the clip, Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie and Maude Apatow can be seen sitting comfortably together on set and laughing as they pose for photos.

However, their co-star Sydney is nowhere to be seen in this photo.

This didn’t go unnoticed by fans and many flocked to the comments section to point it out.

“Notice Sydney wasn’t in the group photo.”

“periodddd Sydney didn’t take the group photo.”

‘notice who’s not there.’

Many rushed to social media to share their shock that Sydney was nowhere to be seen in the teaser.

“I miss Queen Sydney.”

“Sidney is not in the group photo.”

“Lmao Zendaya said NO promo with Sydney and she meant it.”

“Mind you, Sydney is the only girl not with them.”

“Sydney is too reserved and too busy to be there.”

‘wtf, the Euphoria S3 promo looks on fire but where is Sydney Sweeney?? Did they leave her out on purpose or are they just summarizing the drama brewing with Zendaya?’

“Sidney Sweeney out.”

“Hmmm, where’s Sydney.”

The trailer for the third season was released in January.

While fans are no doubt excited to see the return of the controversial series, some viewers were outraged to see Sydney Sweeney’s character Cassie now working as an OnlyFans model.

The new season, which features a significant five-year time jump, sees Cassie engaged to her high school sweetheart, Nate (Jacob Elordi), despite her X-rated gig on OnlyFans.

“I work all day and my future wife is scattered all over the Internet,” Nate complains in one scene.

The OnlyFans storyline has upset some longtime fans of the show, who are upset by the “oversexualization” of the show’s female characters.

Other storylines in the new season include Rue, played by Zendaya, fleeing drug dealers in Mexico.

Meanwhile, Maddy (Alexa Demie) works in Hollywood at a talent agency and becomes frustrated to find that all the other girls she meets in Los Angeles “are sugar babies.”

Spanish pop sensation Rosalia also has a racy role in the new season, playing a pole dancing stripper.

Other new additions to the third season cast include Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth, Marshawn Lynch and Trisha Paytas.

Original Euphoria stars Maude Apatow and Hunter Schafer also return.

In December, Euphoria creator and showrunner Sam Levinson promised that season three would be “our best season yet.”

Explaining the time jump, he told Variety: “Five years seemed like a natural time because if they had gone to college, they would have left it at that point.”

He continued: “We basically took over Rue south of the border in Mexico, in debt to Laurie, trying to find very innovative ways to pay her off.

“And then Cassie lives in the suburbs with Nate, they’re engaged and she’s very addicted to social media and envious of what seems to be the big life that all her high school friends are living at the moment.”

He also said fans would see Nate and Cassie get married and teased a huge guest role from none other than Sharon Stone.

“Lexi is an assistant to a showrunner played by Sharon Stone, who is absolutely charming and a true icon,” he said.

The third season of Euphoria will be released on HBO and Max on April 12, 2026.

Filming for the series began in February 2025.

The program was created and written by Sam Levinson.

Euphoria airs on HBO and is available to stream on Sky and NOW in the UK.
