Oracle and AMD expand AI partnership to keep up with demand

WASHINGTON– WASHINGTON (AP) — Oracle and Advanced Micro Devices are expanding their partnership with the deployment of 50,000 AMD graphics processing units starting in the third quarter of 2026 with further expansion to follow.
The so-called AI “supercluster” is a massive, interconnected group of high-performance computers designed to work together as a single system.
Shares of AMD jumped 3% before the bell Tuesday, while those of Oracle fell 1.8%.
The companies said next-generation AI models are poised to surpass the limitations of current AI infrastructure.
There are no figures for each company’s investment in the expanded partnership.
