Justin Herbert sparkles as Chargers beat Mahomes and Chiefs in NFL’s Brazil roadtrip | NFL
Justin Herbert launched 318 yards and three touched when he passed Patrick Mahomes, and the Los Angeles Loaders beat Kansas City 27-21 Friday evening in Sao Paulo, having a skid of seven games to the chefs.
“It’s monumental,” said charge coach Jim Harbaugh. “September 5 will fall into a charger tradition, in my opinion. It was a great victory. ”
The second NFL match played in South America was broadcast on YouTube, with Neymar present in the stadium, and the public was entitled to an exciting competition.
Herbert has only become the third quarter of the history of the loaders with 300 yards and three affected in the first match. His 19 yards race for a first drop destined all the hopes back that the chiefs had with 2:21 to play and Kansas City dragging six points. Two other incomplete passes brought Harrison Butker, whose goal of 27 yards reduced the deficit to 27-21 with 2:34 to play. Herbert then took control to close the match for the charge. It was their first victory over the chiefs since September 2021.
Wounds
The chiefs were already down two receivers to start the match, with Rashee Rice suspended to start the season and the Jalen Royals recruit with a knee injury. They lost another one of the shots in the game. Xavier Worthy and Kelce collided on a third pass. The worthy had to be helped out of the field and was then excluded with a right shoulder injury.
The office secondary, Denzel Perryman, did not return after his departure with an ankle injury in the third.
