TDS Runs the Democrat Party – RedState

Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) recently said, in response to the question “Who do you think runs the Democratic Party today?” »:

I think TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) is the leader right now. You know, right now our party is governed by TDS, and now it’s virtually impossible, without being punished, as a Democrat to agree on something good, or to “I agree with the other side,” and I would define that as [Operation] Epic fury.

Senator Fetterman understands.

But just to guard against confirmation bias, I turned to other prominent Democrats to see what they thought. Which brought me to “Ragin’ Cajun”, James Carville, who is extremely ragin’ these days:

You’re right, I have Trump Derangement Syndrome. I hate this bastard. And you know what? I don’t want to get rid of it. I don’t want to get better. I want to get worse. I want to hate him more. I pray to God in heaven… Pray for me, Lord. I am your vessel on this earth. Pray for the people who are listening to this. We want more. We want to hate this bitch’s son so much that we can’t see clearly anymore!

Carville also spoke for many other Democrats victimized by TDS in pledging a relentless jihad against the sitting president:

So we prayed together this evening. We will pray more together. But the one thing we’re not going to do is we’re not going to go back. Never ever. We are not going to back down. And you stupid asshole, Trump, you understand that. You understand how many fucking people in this country agree with me and pray for the strength to hate you even more than they hate you now. And I know you think you can’t, but I’m telling you, if you work hard enough at it, you can hate it even more.

Even apolitical Democrats have recognized and bowed to the rampant TDS within their party. Actor Jerry O’Connell, the star of the hit film Stand By Me, admitted his own family was thrown into a violent crisis after he made off-handed critical remarks about then-Vice President Kamala Harris’ loss to Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.

I said something like “there was no planning.” That’s what they get. There should have been a primary. I said something along those lines, you know, like I was just spewing ideas. My wife and daughters, without saying anything, became physical with me. They were filled with rage. So if I’m careful with you in the way I say things, yes, I live in California. I live with not one, not two, but three people who, if I made a joke, would get very angry with me.

And O’Connell was simply speaking as a Democrat who was criticizing Democrats because he wanted them to win.

Again, none of this is normal behavior for a political party. It’s both dangerous and crazy. And this will definitely not lead to good results.

Since President Trump began his second term, Democrats have expressed outrage at virtually his every action, regardless of the circumstances. So far, Democrats have said they are opposed:

• The Trump administration’s statement on Operation Epic Fury, the US-Israeli strike against the Islamic regime in Iran. Despite the fact that the Iranian regime has been at war with the United States since 1979, periodically shouting “Death to America”, taking Americans hostage, murdering over a thousand Americans, and attempting to assassinate American leaders. Despite the fact that the Iranian regime was seeking nuclear weapons and intercontinental ballistic weapons to deliver them to the American continent. Despite all this, Democrats and the mainstream media – but I repeat – sometimes seem to both support the brutal Iranian regime and want US forces to take casualties;
• The Trump administration uses ICE to enforce longstanding federal laws and deport illegal aliens. This includes the Trump administration’s attempts to deport vicious non-citizen criminal aliens who support terrorism or criminal gang members who (allegedly) beat women and operate human trafficking rings. This has led Democrats to demand defunding ICE, which is as ridiculously impossible — a government agency is needed to control illegal aliens and enforce the law — as Democrats’ earlier calls to defund local police forces were. This also led their Antifa-led groups to use violence against ICE;
• the Trump administration’s investigation into a massive fraud, worth up to $9 billion of taxpayer money, committed by Somali criminals who operated fake day care centers and, in some cases, allegedly financed terrorists;
• The Trump administration’s crackdown on left-wing anti-Semitic and Antifa rioters on college campuses, and its efforts to get rid of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs at colleges and in government offices that receive federal funding, while discriminating against various disadvantaged sexual/racial/ethnic/religious groups, including men, Caucasians, Asians, and Jews.

The worst part of the TDS wave is that many particularly nervous leftists/Democrats have been incited to violence over the past decade. Two, even three times, attacks took place against President Trump. A Bernie Bro shot up a GOP congressional baseball practice in 2017. And there has been repeated violence by left-wing agitators against federal immigration enforcement agents.

None of this will change anytime soon. Democratic elites continue to double down, stuck in that doom loop I mentioned earlier, and their fellow partisans echo their demands and their anger. Today, in addition to the violence they continue to embrace, elites are threatening greater use of political justice against the Trump administration and its supporters. And Democrats who oppose TDS, like Senator Fetterman, find themselves increasingly unpopular among party members.

Due to their raging TDS, the Democrats’ “ideology” has simply become “whatever Trump is for, I am against.”

This is NOT the way to “keep a republic”. No way.
