Tecno’s latest concept phone is lit by neon

After unveiling a magnetic and modular smartphone concept the other day, Tecno followed up with two other phone models focused on color-changing finishes: one with E Ink and the other incorporating neon.

I’m most impressed with the Pova Neon, which the company says includes real neon lighting, not just bright colors: it uses “ionized inert gas lighting technology” to create a glowing effect.

In contrast, the AI ​​EInk builds color electronic ink on the back of the phone, allowing you to change the phone’s color on the fly. Perhaps more impressively, you can set the color using the camera, so your phone can match your outfit with just one click.

As with any concept, there’s no guarantee that Tecno will ever release a real phone with either design, and neon seems especially unlikely to hit the market – but I could imagine a color-changing E Ink phone coming out before too long.
