Knife-wielding man shot by officer in Strawberry Mansion, Philadelphia police say

A man was shot during a confrontation with police in Philadelphia’s Strawberry Mansion neighborhood early Wednesday morning.
It happened around 3 a.m. in the 1800 block of North Bailey Street.
The police responded to a disturbance inside a house involving a man armed with a knife.
Authorities say a police officer was confronted by the man brandishing a knife and fired one shot, hitting the man in the chest.
The man was rushed to Temple University Hospital. We are awaiting confirmation on his condition.
The police officer was not injured.
