Tesla sales fell 13% in the last three months amid anti-Musk sentiment

New York – Sales of Tesla electric cars have dropped by 13% in the past three months while the boycotts on Elon Musk’s political opinions continue to keep buyers away, significant development since anger at the company’s billionaire CEO would now have disappeared.

Plunging sales add to the growing signs that Musk’s embrace of the American president Donald Trump and far -right politicians in Europe had a deep and lasting blow to the attraction of the brand of Tesla. New figures are also a possible sign that Tesla could disappoint when he announces the result of the second quarter later this month. In the first three months of this year, net profit dropped by 71%.

Sales fell to 384,122 in April to June, against 443,956 during the same period last year. During this period, Musk officially left the Trump administration as a cost reduction tsar and hopes increased that sales would recover.

Sales of models 3 and totaled 373,728, above the 356,000 estimate of Wall Street analysts. Tesla shares have increased by around 4% in trade prior to the market.
