Tesla’s Cybertruck flop is historic. The brand collapse is even worse

Elon Musk has bet large on cybertruck.
It is not emerged from the discussion groups, imitates the models of successful trucks, or even resemble Tesla – at the time – of the S, X, 3 and Y and Y lines. It was ugly monstrosity that failed to be up to the task Musk’s high promises. But Musk thought he knew better than everyone.

Of course, this is not how he sold it. Always his own hypeman, musk claimed Having 1 million reservations for the vehicle, and he built an entire factory in Austin, Texas, designed to launch 125,000 cybertrucks per year, with plans to double this. His fanboys applauded. Wall Street nodded.
So how many Cybertrucks Tesla did In fact sell?
A Reminder of March– In which cybertrucks panels literally fell due to the defective glue – explained the number: 46,096 sold during the 14 months which followed the deliveries. It is less than 3,300 per month.
It was already clear when the vehicle would never reach Musk’s absurd targets, but Tesla’s latest delivery numbers suggest that things are even worse.
Tesla reported Another steep drop In vehicle deliveries, down 13% in annual sliding in the second quarter. But consult the Real numbers::
-
Model 3 / Y: 373 728
-
Other models: 10 394
This “other models” bucket includes the S model, the X model and the premium but geriatric singer, the cybertruck.
This represents less than 3,500 of the three handsets sold per month.
The S and X models have a meaning, because neither of the two vehicles has changed significantly over the years. Tesla – and Musc – were distracted by cybertruck and, hilarious, robots“What musk now claims that Tesla will sell 1 million. The S and X models are expensive and tired, and high-end competitors like Rivian, Lucid and Mercedes-Benz left them in the dust.
We can therefore reasonably extrapolate that Tesla may have sold 1,000 to 2,000 cybertrucks in its second quarter perhaps, which is beyond the hilarious. At this rate, Tesla may have to stop entirely. There is no way that it is close to recovering the massive capital casting in manufacturing.
But is anyone really surprised? Not only is it the ugliest vehicle on the road, but it has also become a meme Maga Roulant. Many teslas on the road were bought when Tesla was the only electric vehicle option – when Musk has always said that her mission was to save the world.
Older teslas drivers get grace – and I am from them, so I know it from the first hand. But the cybertruck? At the time of launch, everyone knew who is really musk. No one was driving one is innocent.
And that’s all Musk’s fault.
Musk burned his relationship with the very people who managed to succeed Tesla: the Liberals. The first adopters, technology technology and climate fled as soon as it has become complete anti-alarm clock, anti-trans, anti-all-tut-couples. The guy who once positioned himself as a futuristic has only become another dimen-a dozen reactionaries of grieving-pedagical on the circuit of the podcast.
The obvious hope of Musk – as delightful as it is – was that the Conservatives Anti -EV would replace lost liberal customers. Musk even organized an improper sales event Tesla Freakin White House. But then he also exploded this by choosing a fight with President Donald Trump.
Now Trump is threatening To expel musk And Free his Doge “Monster” To destroy its businesses – cutting federal contracts that keep Tesla and SpaceX alive. Musk was once the patron saint of cultural war capitalism, but now he is excommunicated by the very people he has tried to impress.
So who remains to buy Teslas? Crypto Grifters? Joe Rogan Stans? It is not a clientele; It is a section of comments. And Tesla’s sales figures reflect this.
But the robot tips will be completely different, right?
