Texans’ Jimmie Ward placed on commissioner exempt list

Houston – The NFL has placed Houston Texans starting Jimmie Ward security on the Commissioner’s list of copies, the League announced on Tuesday.
Ward may not practice or attend games on the list.
The placement stems from the arrest of Ward in the county of Montgomery, Texas, at 5:38 am on June 12 for alleged family violence in his house in Magnolia involving his fiancée.
On the first day of the training camp, Houston’s general manager Nick Caserio answered a question about Ward’s initial arrest saying that the team “would let the legal process take care of itself”.
Almost two months later, Ward was arrested on August 7 for violating its previous release conditions by testing positive for alcohol. As a result, he had to spend the night in prison.
The woman involved in the alleged incident filed a complaint at the Harris County District Court (Texas) on August 21. She declared the arrest in the morning of the arrest which she had “violently assaulted several times, both sexually and physically” by Ward in the presence of their 3 -year -old child. She also said that she had been slapped, strangled, threatened and forced to make oral sex.
She said she finally fled in the street and called 911.
The coach Demeco Ryans was questioned on the last trial following the joint practice of the Texans-Dettoit on the Lions on August 21 and said: “We will let the situation be played.”
“I know there are a lot of allegations and things with Jimmie,” said Ryans. “We do not know the true story, and I hate to go to a judgment on a situation with Jimmie. That everything that must happen in the judicial system, leave that. But, I think it is unfair to rush to judgment when allegations and stories come out on players. Everyone is quick to jump on it and jump on the negative side with the players.
Ward, 33, signed a $ 13 million contract over two years with the Texans two years ago as free agent after spending his first nine seasons with the 49ers of San Francisco. In 2023 Ward played 10 games and experienced an interception. The Texans then gave him an extension of one year in August 2024 and had two interceptions in 10 games.
